The wiki has an article on contributing to Arch Hurd.

Arch Hurd Schwag

We currently offer a (very) limited range of products through Zazzle. In fact, the range of products consists of one thing currently, so let me know if you want other stuff and I'll add it. Proceeds from the shop, as with everything else, go towards supporting and furthering Arch Hurd.

Donations

Currently we accept donations through Paypal and Flattr. Donations are used to pay for our server.

Paypal

Flattr

Flattr is a social payment system which enables users to make a small donation once a month which is distributed between all of the things they have flattred in that month.

Developers

There are three main ways in which developers can help Arch Hurd: help the Hurd, help Arch Hurd, and help other projects become more Hurd-friendly.

The Hurd project itself has many problems, and needs help. You can see a list of open issues and some suggestions for contributing. If you have the knowledge and skills to help the Hurd, you also help us and the other Hurd distributions, such as Debian GNU/Hurd.

The Arch Hurd bug tracker has a list of currently known bugs with Arch Hurd, and we are are always in need of packagers. Compiling and testing things in qemu (which most of us use) is slow and error-prone, so if you want to help us with an admittedly rather arduous task, we will be glad to hear from you.

If you are a developer for another open source or free software project, consider making your project more Hurd-friendly. Many problems are found when porting software from GNU/Linux distributions to Hurd distributions because of a number of assumptions that developers often make, which may not be true on other systems. Have a look at the Hurd porting guidelines for details.

Writers

If you have a flair for technical writing, we could really use your help in creating and maintaining the wiki. Currently there are a very small number of users who do this, and we can't do everything.

Users

Even if you can't write documentation or actively create solutions to problems, you can help us simply by using Arch Hurd and reporting or investigating any bugs you encounter. Additionally, you can feel free to nag us about building your favourite packages—currently we're working on what we want to work on, which may not be what the users want.
